GM Flint Assembly Plant
GM spokesman Tom Wickham said it's not known when production will resume at Flint Assembly and said grief counselors are available at the plant to talk with workers.
In a statement, GM said, "Tragically, an employee at GM’s Assembly plant in Flint, Michigan took his life this afternoon. No one else in the plant was injured. We’re working with local authorities as the incident is investigated. Our condolences and deepest sympathies go to the employee’s family and colleagues..."
GM said in an earlier email that the company and Flint police were investigating a "medical situation" at the plant.
Two Flint police vehicles were parked outside Flint Asssembly, located on Van Slyke Road, at about 2:45 p.m., and crime scene tape was stretched across a front door to the plant.
Police on the scene said the situation is under investigation.
